Boskalis bolsters fleet ahead of Taiwan work

In January 2021 Boskalis, will add the multipurpose DP2 offshore construction vessel Topaz Tiamat to its fleet. The vessel will be deployed on offshore wind projects in Taiwan.

Boskalis has contracted Topaz Tiamat for 3.5 years from January 2021 from P&O Maritime Logistics. It will operate under the name Boka Tiamat.

The vessel was built by Vard Brattvåg and delivered in 2016. It measures 98 metres in length, with berths for up to 82 personnel. It has been retrofitted with a 1,300 kW SeaQ Energy Storage System, which will reduce fuel consumption and emissions during DP operations. In harbour and emergency mode, the battery pack will also have a significant impact on reducing emissions to the environment.
