DOF Subsea revealed that work will shortly being on what is poised to be the worlds largest floating offshore wind farm,
Hywind Tampen.

The company will deploy its high powered anchor handling vessel
Skandi Skansen to undertake the installation work on the suction anchors ahead of the tow to site of the completed turbines.

The development of the 88 MW
Hywind Tampen array is designed to reduce emissions from oil and gas production at the Snorre and Gullfaks fields. It is to consist of 11 wind turbines, with a total capacity of 88 MW, installed approximately 140 km from shore, at water depths of 260 to 300 metres.

Operated from Equinor’s offices in Bergen,
Hywind Tampen is scheduled to enter operations at the end of 2022. It is expected to meet around 35% of the annual demand for electricity of the five platforms: Snorre A and B and Gullfaks A, B and C. In periods of strong winds, the percentage could be higher.
