Floating foundation launched in China

Wison Offshore & Marine has loaded out and launched China's first floating offshore wind foundation platform in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province.

The semi-submersible platform, developed by China Three Gorges Group (CTG), has an overall width of 91 meters, a depth of 32 meters, a design draught of 13.5 meters and a wind farm displacement of more than 13000 tons. It has been designed to withstand the sea conditions in the South China Sea.

The floating wind power test prototype will support a turbine developed by CTG and MingYang Smart Energy with a unit capacity of 5.5 MW, and the diameter is 158 metres. It is to be installed at the CTGNE Yangjiang Shapa - phase III - floating demo site.
