271 GW of offshore wind could be installed or under construction by the end of the decade, according to a new report from 4C Offshore. This is an increase on previous forecasts, and reflects changes in both Europe and China as ambition continues to escalate.

The figure represents an upper-end forecast and includes projects with foundations in the water by the end of the year. It comes from 4C Offshore’s Project Opportunity Pipeline, which tracks and anticipates market growth and change.

The Q3 2022 Market Overview Report, prepared by 4C Offshore’s world-class Market Research team, is available to all customers subscribed to the
Global Offshore Wind Intelligence subscription. The report, which is published quarterly, provides a concise, forward-looking overview on current trends and developments in the global offshore wind scene, including forecasts to 2030 and 2035, and market-level updates.

The latest edition looks at: auction timelines; developments and delays in Europe as conflict in Ukraine and the energy crisis cause regime and policy change; new targets and roadmaps in the Netherlands, Greece, Ireland, and Italy; historic legislation in the US accelerating offshore wind expansion; India’s rather optimistic target to go from no offshore wind to 30 GW by 2030; and progress across Asia-Pacific including the first offshore wind areas designated in Australia and yet more ambition from China.

4C Offshore is also pleased to introduce a ‘Regulatory Cheat Sheet’, which breaks down offshore wind regimes for some of the key markets. This pioneering tool enables subscribers to see and compare regimes at a glance.

Following release of the report, 4C Offshore will host a webinar, focussed on developments in the fast-paced US market. The US round-up webinar will take place on Thursday 6th October 2022, at 3pm BST.

In this webinar, 4C Offshore will analyse the latest offshore wind developments and outline its forecast for the United States. This will be followed by a Q&A session.

For the first time, the team is making this webinar open to everyone. You may register, at this link,  whether or not you are a subscriber.
