Northern Offshore Group buys CPower Energy

Swedish headquartered company Northern Offshore Group (NOG) has announced an investment in UK based consulting and service specialist CPower Energy Ltd. The company stated that the investment is part of plans to broaden its activities within the offshore wind industry.

CPower Energy Ltd operates in both the construction and maintenance phases offshore wind farms, offering consultancy and recruitment of industry personnel. The company will continue to be managed by its founders and current management, as a standalone business and out of its existing premises, with the support of NOG.

“We are very excited about this strategic acquisition, as we can contribute with our experience, knowledge and our wide network within the industry”, says David Kristensson, CEO of Northern Offshore Group.

NOG recently acquired the assets of UK-based Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) company Turbine Transfers. The acquisition covers all assets of Turbine Transfers, including its fleet of 25 CTVs, shore-based staff and crew. MAREEL Ltd, a newly formed standalone company within NOG, will operate the fleet and manage the day-to-day business from its office in North Wales. All existing contracts and operations will transfer with the vessels.

Northern Offshore Group comprises of several privately owned companies with operations in the marine industry. Until its recent acquisitions, the group had primarily been run through two companies: Northern Offshore Services, a subcontractor to the international offshore wind industry providing CTV support, and Northern Energy & Supply which operates within the energy, recycling and logistic sectors.
