Power agreement for Formosa II

Swancor has signed a power purchase agreement with Taipower for the
Formosa II offshore wind farm off the coast of Taiwan. The 20 year agreement is a step forward for the 376MW project which is expected to supply up to 380,000 households annually.

Swancor is currently developing the 120MW  
Formosa I Phase 2 project which will consist of 20 Siemens Gamesa SWT-6.0-154 direct drive offshore wind turbines. It is located around 6km off the west coast of the Miaoli district in the Taiwan Strait in water depths ranging between 15-30m. Operations are planned to start in September 2019 and it is expected to power approximately 85,000 households.

The project follows the 8MW
Formosa Phase 1 demonstration project installed in 2016, Taiwan's first offshore wind power plant. The project is owned by Ørsted A/S, Macquarie Capital Group and Swancor and is acting as a demonstration project aimed to further the establish offshore wind in Taiwan. It features two Siemens Games SWT-4.0-120 turbines.
