Developers of the Codling wind farm project have published and sent a Scoping Report to 78 consultees concerting the array's offshore elements. The report sets out the approach the developers will take to the development of the Offshore Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR).

The purpose of the Scoping Report is to engage with regulators, statutory and non-statutory consultees as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment process, inviting them to provide relevant information and to comment on the proposed approach being adopted by Codling Wind Park in relation to the offshore elements of the project. This aims to ensure that a robust Environmental Impact Assessment Report is submitted in support of the eventual application for planning consent.

A similar Scoping Report for the onshore elements of the project is also being developed and will be finalised in the coming months.

The
Codling project is located south of Dublin, 13 km off the coast of County Wicklow. The initial development work started in 2003. Codling is spread across two sites, one of which, Codling 1, is consented. As an indication, the capacity of the project should be around 1 GW of installed capacity.
