Siemens Gamesa cements Hollandse Kust Zuid supply agreement

Siemens Gamesa has secured a firm order with Vattenfall to supply 140 SG 11.0-200 DD turbines for the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm projects in the Netherlands. The projects are to be fitted with approximately 140 turbines, each with the ability to reach a capacity of 11 MW.

The projects will have a combined capacity of 1,500 MW and are expected to meet the annual electricity consumption of over two million Dutch households. Offshore construction is scheduled to start in 2021. The turbines will be installed in 2022, with the project expected to be fully operational by 2023.

The projects are located off the coasts of the Hague and Noordwijk. Vattenfall secured the rights to the Hollandse Kust Zuid 1&2 and Hollandse Kust Zuid 3 & 4,in separate zero subsidy tenders in March 2018 and July 2019 respectively.
