Stowen scores Great Gabbard work

Stowen has been awarded the framework agreement to complete non-destructive testing on client assets located at the Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm. The complexities of the works involve NDT within confined space with the use of rope access.

The Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm consists of 140 SWT-3.6-107 Siemens turbines. It is located off the coast of East Anglia and was commissioned in August 2013. With a 504 MW capacity, the project is capable of producing enough renewable energy to supply around 530,000 homes each year.

Kieron Ford (Stowen's Clean Energy Technical Director) commented: “This award is a fantastic milestone for the group and further embeds Stowen in the clean energy arena in the east of England. It comes as a result of many years of hard work demonstrating our expertise and commitment in this area.
