Representatives from the Danish and Vietnamese Governments signed contracts for surveys for the La Gan offshore wind farm. The Danish Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Kim Højlund Christensen, hosted the online signing ceremony of two contracts for the project.

These two contracts include La Gan Geological Research Contracts and La Gan Geographical Survey Contracts, signed between La Gan Wind Power Development Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Government Agency, Centre for Regulation Planning and Investigation of Resources - Northern Regional Marine Environment (CPIM) with tight coordination of the Danish Government Agency, the Danish Geological Survey and Greenland (GEUS).

With a potential capacity of 3.5 GW, the
La Gan offshore wind project will be one of the first large scale offshore wind projects in Vietnam.  Once fully installed, the project is expected to power more than 7 million households per year and avoid 130 million tonnes of CO2 emissions over its lifetime.
