Tekmar awarded Cable Protection Systems contract for Guangdong Shandong

Tekmar Group, a leading provider of technology and services for the global offshore energy markets, is pleased to announce a significant new contract award to supply 100 Cable Protection Systems (CPS) for use on multiple offshore wind farms in Shangdong and Guangdong provinces of China, the names of which are as of yet undisclosed. The contract reportedly has a value of £1.6m for Tekmar Group and the systems are expected to be delivered through 2022.

Foreign contractors are not often used in construction and systems on Chinese wind farms. The rapidly expanding Chinese market, which installed a total of 16 GW of offshore wind energy last year, is still in need of international expertise to meet its targets in offshore wind construction.

4C Offshore will report more when specific sites for the 100 Cable Protection Systems is known.
