05 Apr 2022: Aneel has terminated the project's Grant Request Dispatch (DRO) on the grounds that developments in the licensing process since the application was made render it 'impaired'. There is, according to Aneel, no longer any need for a DRO. The bulk of permitting and responsibility for the primary analysis of risks/advantages/feasibility is now to lie with the Ministry of Mines and Energy. The developers have indicated that they await the publication of the vote from Aneel and the board's final decision at the end of April 2022 and have suggested that the project is still going to go ahead.
