16 Oct 2020: Update 16th October 2020: European Energy filed for permission to build Omø South and Jammerland Bay wind farms, under the open door scheme, with the Danish Energy Agency. The announcement follows five months after the Danish Energy Agency green lit the preliminary environment impact assessments related to both projects. Before final permissions can be awarded European Energy must present a supplemental EIA on the final project design. European Energy plan to finalise design and turbine supplier before the end of 2021 in order to start installation by 2023. update 22/05/20: European Energy A/S received the approval of its environmental impact assessments (EIA) for two of its offshore wind projects, Omø South and Jammerland Bay. European Energy can now apply for a building permit within 6 months (22nd November 2020). update 16/04/20: Omø South and Jammerland Bay, with a combined capacity of up to 560 MW, are in the final phase of obtaining Environment Impact Assessment approval. The approvals are expected in 2020. European Energy have six months following approval of the feasibility report and EIA approval to submit for a construction permit. Hence it is likely that an application for construction permit will be made late 2020 at the earliest, or 2021. As part of the approval process for the construction permit a further EIA on the specific project design and public consultation will be required. update 28/10/19: this is likely delayed in light of the additional reviews/information requests by the DEA for the EIA. A further EIA supplement on the specific wind farm design will be required to be submitted alongside the consent application and require further consultation. Approval of the EIA is now expected in Q1 2020. Once the feasibility report and EIA are approved the developer has six months to apply for a construction permit and submit a specific project EIA. Jammerland Bay Nearshore A/S aim to apply for the building permit in Q3-Q4 2019 with approval anticipated early 2020.
