08 Dec 2023: The Danish Energy Agency has resumed case processing of pending applications for lifetime extensions of offshore wind farms. On 1 February 2023, the Danish Energy Agency put the case processing of open door projects on hold until further clarification of EU legal issues. The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Supply, in dialogue with the State Aid Secretariat, has now assessed that pending applications for extensions of the electricity production licence, so-called lifetime extensions for already established offshore wind farms, are not in breach of EU law. The Danish Energy Agency has therefore resumed lifetime extension case processing of all pending applications for life extension, which include: Middelgrunden offshore wind farm Horns Rev 1 Offshore wind farm Rønland offshore wind farm Samsø Offshore Wind Farm Nysted offshore wind farm
