4C Offshore Empowering Intelligence
14 Nov 2022: On June 28, 2022, OWP Gennaker GmbH submitted an application to the State Office for Agriculture and Environment in Western Pomerania for a change approval for the construction and operation of 103 offshore wind turbines (OWEA ) of the type SG 167-DD from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy with a hub height of 104.5 m, a rotor diameter of 167 m, a total height of max. 190 m and a nominal output of 9.0 MW, two identical transformer platforms (USP) and the array cabling. This rated turbine capacity is higher than previously approved for 8.4 MW using the Siemens SWT-8.0-154 with a total capacity of 865.2 MW. The SWT-8.0-154 model will no longer be available at the time of the planned installation in 2026 because the corresponding production plant has already switched to the 15 MW turbine class. Due to the slightly higher turbine output, the number of WTs per string had to be reduced from the original maximum of 10 to a maximum of 9 WTs and the internal farm cabling had to be slightly adjusted. The total length of the cabling within the farm is around 144 km. The change requires amendment to permits awarded in 2019. The application was made public on November 14th 2022 and open for comment until 20th January 2023. Instead of a discussion meeting scheduled for February 2023 an online consultation event will be held in due course. Financial Close is expected November 2023. Production of the substation jackets and topsides expected end-2023 until mid-2026. Production of the foundations, turbines and array cables expected Q1 2024 until mid-2026. Installation of first phase of monopiles expected April 2025 until June 2025, with second phase under piling restrictions from June-September. The third and final phase will be from October 2025 to April 2026. Transition piece installation will start February 2026 until June 2026. Installation of the first substation is expected March-April 2026. Installation of the second substation expected May to June 2026. Installation of the wind turbines from March 2026 until November 2026. Installation of the array cables from April to August 2026. Full commissioning and handover to operations team is to be completed by March 2027.
