Makani Floating Wind Turbine - Kite Technology Demonstrator - Metcentre

18 Feb 2020: MAKANI will not progress towards a new demonstration of its 600kW due to the fact that the road to commercialisation is longer and riskier than hoped. Additionally, MAKANI left Alphabet, a Google owned company, which previously funded the company via an internal programme known as 'Other Bets'. Currently, MAKANI is with Shell which is exploring options to continue developing MAKANI's technology.
