1350 MW Capacity
23 Apr 2024: Cenos have submitted a new scoping report which delays the project by 2-3 years and reduces capacity to 1350 MW. The scoping report covers an updated project area and cable route, which will be approx 230 km. All of the below, with the exception of the HVAC substation and O&G cabling is only for connection to shore, and not any cable for the oil and gas electrification, which will be applied for separately in the future. Design envelope: • 68 to 95 turbines • 140 to 180 m hub height • up to 280 m rotor diameter • up to 320 m (TLP) / 310 m (semi-sub) tip height • 22m blade clearance • up to 1350 MW • 230 km cable corridor • up to 330 km(66 or 132 kV) inter-array cabling • 3 to 6 turbines per array cable string • up to 2 export cable (320 or 525 kV) and 1 fibre optic cable (if not bundled) Foundation design envelope: • Primary material: Steel • up to 115 m length • up to 100 m length • up to 40 m height • up to 9 mooring lines per platform • up to 850 m mooring line radius Substation design envelope (HVDC to shore): • up to 75 m length • up to 40 m width • up to 35 m height • up to 12,500 tonnes topside • up to 10,000 tonnes foundation An additional HVAC substation is being considered for a connection to the oil and gas assets which Cenos intends to power. This substation will be smaller and potential bridge connected to the HVDC substation. Design envelope: • up to 75 m length • up to 40 m width • up to 35 m height • up to 4,000 tonne topside • up to 3,200 tonne foundation O&G cabling design envelope: • Up to 10 cables • Cables of lengths 20 km, 31 km, 25 km, 37 km, 75 km, and 115 km. The varying lengths are for connection to different oil and gas platforms. • 66 kV • maximum diameter of 300 mm Indicative project timeline: • Consent application: Q4 2024 • Consent approved Q4 2025 • CFD award: 2026 (Allocation Round 8) • FID: 2027 • Manufacturing 2027-2032 • Offshore construction 2029-2033 • Substation and cable installation 2029-2030 • First power: 2030 • COD: 2033
