01 Mar 2023: Update Feb 24th 2023: Project proceeding with its own 'at-risk' expenditure in order to maintain a critical path to first power in 2024. Approaching financial close. Onshore electrical infrastructure construction well underway. Offshore installation will start later 2023 First power in 2024 and COD 2025 Update January 2022: Financial Close expected in January 2023. Update December 2022: Financial Close expected Q4 2022, predicted end of the year, however PPA have been secured with ENGIE and Google, with tier 1 contracts being announced this month. Update 22/9/2022: Approaching Financial Close, expected Q4 2022. Update 22nd October 2021: financial close expected 2022, conditional on winning in the CfD auction. Update 20/09/19: Despite not being awarded a CFD in the 3rd Round the Developers confirmed that the project remains viable and recognises an opportunity for Moray West to be awarded a CfD in the next auction round in 2021 and would be on course for start of construction in 2024. Financial Close now estimated 2022 providing a CFD win in 2021.
