Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm, a renewable energy project currently in early-stage development off the Angus Coast, has awarded a 2 year contract to
Innovair for drone inspection services.

The Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm will connect to the national transmission system at Cockenzie, East Lothian and, when completed, is expected to be Scotland's largest single source of renewable power. The project aims to see up to 72 turbines located 15 km off the Angus Coast.

Innovair's inspection services will be focused on the construction progress of the project's substation at Cockenzie, East Lothian, which will begin on site shortly.

The Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm is a major component of the UK's strategy to increase its renewable energy capacity and meet its offshore wind target. When fully operational (expected to be around 2026), it will generate the equivalent of the annual power needs of more than 1.7 million homes.

To support the new contract, Innovair has established a new base in East Lothian and plans to hire additional staff to help meet the demand for its services.

"We are pleased to have selected Innovair as our drone inspection services provider for the construction of the substation at Cockenzie. We believe that their locality and expertise in drone inspection will ensure that we can maintain the highest standards of safety and quality during construction and help us to achieve our project goals"
said Cormac Breslin, Project Control Coordinator at Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm.

“We are excited about the growth opportunities this contract presents for our new base in East Lothian, demonstrating the increased need for robotic solutions across the wind sector".
