4C Offshore | CWind Pioneer
CWind Pioneer (CWind Hybrid SES) is a Hybrid Surface Effect Ship (SES) i.e. it uses a combination of fuel and battery power, plus fans to lift the vessel in the water reducing drag and improving performance in terms of sea keeping and fuel consumption. The hull was constructed with aluminium and deck house from composite material.

At a speed of 43.5kts, CWind Pioneer is over 20% more fuel efficient than conventional CTVs running at 24kts on a mile for mile basis. For a typical wind farm situated 30nmi from port, this translates to a reduction of over 110 tons of CO2 per vessel, per year, by using the hybrid SES.
