Esvagt ordered the vessel for a 15 year contract for MHI Vestas working on the Borssel III & IV project in the Netherlands. Esvagt Schelde features two daughter craft as well as an SMST walk to work system. The company also announced and order for a second vessel for Triton Knoll at the same time.

In April 2020, shipyard Havyard was experiencing financial difficulties which led to a renegotiation of the build schedule with Esvagt.
