4C Offshore | TSS Pioneer
The new Service Operations Vessel (SOV), TSS Pioneer (大三商領航 ), will provide operations and maintenance support in Taiwan for offshore wind farm developer Ørsted. The vessel is being supplied by Ta San Shang Marine Co. Ltd., a joint venture of Taiwan’s Ta Tong Marine Group (TTM) and Japan’s 130-year-old Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL). the vessel will be the world’s first-ever Taiwan-flagged service operation vessel (SOV)

Originally, Ørsted signed a MOU with Taiwan Navigation and Eastern Navigation for the development of a local SOV solution.

SMST was awarded the contract supplying a motion compensated gangway and 3D Motion Compensated Crane for the vessel.

Corvus Energy will supply an air-cooled Corvus Orca Energy Storage System (ESS) onboard. This is a lithium-ion based system.
