Brindisi Offshore 2.0 Floating Wind Farm

17 Feb 2022: An application and subsequent integration was submitted on 17 February 2022 by the company TG Energie Rinnovabili Srl for the issue of a thirty-year state-owned maritime concession for the following areas: - Water mirror beyond the limit of territorial waters: 101,855,986.86 m²; - Water mirror within the limit of territorial waters: 583,296 m²; - Land-based maritime state area: 260 m². The application was for the installation and operation of a floating-type plant for the production of electricity from renewable offshore wind sources, called "Brindisi offshore2.0. " composed of 95 wind turbines with a total power of 1425 MW to be built beyond 12 nautical miles from the coast. This application is part of the Single Authorization Procedure for the construction and operation of an offshore energy production plant through the exploitation of the wind in the southern Adriatic Sea, in the stretch of sea under the responsibility of the Brindisi Port Authority in front of the towns of Torre Cavallo and Cerano of the Municipality of Brindisi. Main works planned: • 95 wind turbines with a unitary power of 15 MW, for a total power of 1,425 MW, installed on tubular steel towers and the related floating foundations divided into 19 subfields; • electric lines in submarine cable for connection between the wind turbines and the electricity collection and off-shore transformation station, with all the necessary voltage transformation and sectioning devices; • an Off-Shore Electric Station (66/380 kV) (SE), i.e. all the electrical equipment (switches, disconnectors, CTs, VTs, etc.) necessary to collect the energy produced in the wind subfields, raising the voltage from 66 kV at 380 kV; • an HVAC connection power line, consisting of a first section of 380 kV marine cable laid after the transition from marine to terrestrial at the landing point identified at the Enel power station in Brindisi in the "Lido Cerano" area, to connect the plant to the National Transmission Grid (NTG) assumed with connection to the antenna at the Terna electricity station in Brindisi Sud.
