Ailes Marines, a 100% subsidiary of Iberdrola, confirmed that the commissioning of the
Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm is on track for December 2023.

By the end of the 2022 installation campaign, 40 wind turbine positions were drilled and equipped with their three piles and sealed. This represents approximately 65% of the array including the position of the electrical substation. A total of 24 jacket foundations were installed (in 62 positions), i.e. approximately 40% of the project, including that of the electrical substation.

The park installation campaign will continue throughout 2023. At the end of January, beginning of February, the ships in charge of installing the inter-array cables will arrive at the perimeter of the park. Prysmian will then begin laying the 90 km of inter-wind turbine cables.

From mid-February, Van Oord heavy lift vessel
Aeolus will return to the site to drill and install the remaining piles on the 22 remaining positions. Following this, at the beginning of spring, an undisclosed vessel will continue the installation of the remaining 38 jacket foundations.

The first 8 MW Siemens Gamesa turbines will be installed on their foundations before the summer. The commissioning of the array will be conducted gradually and will be done in phases, 20%, 50% and 100% in December 2023.

All of these operations are expected to see mobilisation of around thirty vessels.

The 496 MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm, 16 km off the French coast, will feature 62 Siemens Gamesa
SG 8.0-167 DD turbines, standing at 207 metres high. Covering an area of 75 km2, the project will be the first large-scale offshore wind farm in Brittany. When operational, it will be capable of generating 1,820 GWh/year of electricity, expected to meet the demands of  835,000 people. It will be the Iberdrola group's first large offshore wind farm in France, and the company's fourth of this technology in operation. Its construction represents an overall investment of close to €2.5 billion.

The plant will become the Iberdrola's fourth offshore wind farm in operation, following
West of Duddon Sands, located in the Irish Sea; Wikinger, in the Baltic Sea; and East Anglia ONE, one of the world's largest offshore wind developments, located in the southern North Sea.
