Siem Offshore scores further work in Taiwan

Siem Offshore has signed a new contract for the Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel Siem Sapphire for operations in Taiwan. Delivery has already taken place, and secures utilisation into the Q3 022 plus options.

The scope of work consists of walk-to-work (W2W) operations for accommodation support in relation to commissioning of an offshore wind park.

The vessel is designed for towing and anchor handling, deep water inspection and construction work. Built in 2010, the vessel measures just over 90 metres in length and 22 metres in breadth. It has the capacity for up to 60 people and is equipped with DP2 and a 42 tonne capacity gantry crane.

Siem Sapphire will be its second vessel operating in Taiwan along with the OSCV Siem Barracuda already having been active in the region since early 2021. This includes the Yunlin and Formosa II projects.
